About
Erin Keeley Phillips, (M.S., ERYT-200, RYT-500) is a teacher, mother, and friend who is passionate about soul feeding. Forever a seeker, she’s been teaching through the body for 22 years, spent 15 years in the hard sciences, and has been practicing Yoga asana and Tantra for 14 years. Her lessons hit home through several tragedies in her life in which she came out on the other side having found more beauty by simply not choosing the easy way out. Erin will welcome you to your mat, no matter your story, with warmth and understanding.
Erin is also the author and a director of the Yoga Pod Seva Immersion and Teacher training. Her asana background ranges from alignment asana to power-yoga to creative vinyasa. She is trained in yoga therapeutics. Last, but not least, she brings flavor to her classes by weaving empowering and secular philosophical teachings of psychology, religious studies and humanistic Rajanaka Tantra into the dance of the physical practice.
From Erin:
“Fabulously delicious is what I want from life. To savor, taste, revel-in and experience. Like pleasure through pain, Her flavors are meant to be tasted in every variety. I believe that we are Her play: a glorious mistake that happens to be the vehicle she needed to experience Herself. Without our connections, our human interactions and deep emotion for one another, She would not be able to live. She would hold no joy. She would shed no tears. How do we access her? Through our body, our breath, our awareness, our understanding… and most of all: each other. This is yoga. You can access yoga in any order and in many ways, but as a teacher by nature, I know that I can help you follow your own messages to also find your way. I’ve weaved and backpedaled, always asking why and what more? And in that have been dealt the cards to test me. With each tragedy, I came out on the other side. And with each scar, I found more beauty. But most of all, what I do is see all of this in you. I am here to be an example, a companion and the motivation for you to find yours. I could take you there the easy way, but I won’t. I might save you time and offer you amazing beings to meet along the way, but I promise I won’t do the work for you. The only way is the uncertain way, and that is actually just YOUR way. Let me be your companion along your way and I promise to welcome you with warmth, fullness and the ability to provide a reflection of who you are and what more you could be.”
“Erin has a remarkable capacity to greet the present moment while gently encouraging her students to go deeper into their practice. She informs, nurtures, and guides without leading. In doing so, she creates respectful space wherein each student can enjoy discovering his/her own practice and letting it unfold as it will. She is masterful at providing anatomical cues that make a world of difference and is always tuned in to both individual and class needs. Using her multidisciplinary education and experience to inform her teaching, Erin exudes strength, humor, openness, humility and power with equal parts grace and spontaneity. I am fortunate to participate in her classes.”
